Information You Provide to Us

The only way to send us information through this website is our contact form. It asks for your name and email address, optionally your company and phone number, and whatever you write in the message. There are no accounts to create and nothing to sign in to.

Information We Collect Automatically

When you visit our website, our hosting provider automatically records limited technical information as part of delivering and securing the site, including:

  • IP address
  • Browser and device type
  • Pages requested
  • Referring website

We use privacy-focused website analytics that report aggregate traffic patterns only. These analytics do not use cookies, do not fingerprint your device, and do not track you across other websites.

Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We do not set any cookies of our own. Our security and content delivery provider may set a small number of strictly necessary cookies to protect this website from automated abuse. These are used only to keep the site available and secure.

Sharing of Information

We do not sell or rent your personal information, and we do not share it for advertising or marketing purposes. There are three situations in which your information reaches anyone outside Lodestar IT LLC.

Software we use to run the business. When you submit our contact form, the information you provide is transmitted to and stored in our customer relationship management system so that we can respond to you. If you email or call us instead, that correspondence is handled in our email and productivity software. We also use a third-party hosting and content delivery provider to serve this website. These providers process information on our behalf, under contract, and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes. We may change the providers we use as our business needs change.

Legal requirements. We may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or other legal process, or where we reasonably need to in order to investigate a security incident or protect someone's safety.

Sale of the business. If Lodestar IT LLC is acquired or merges with another company, business records including contact inquiries would transfer as part of that transaction. Any acquirer would remain bound by this Policy with respect to information collected under it.

Data Retention

We keep what you send through the contact form for as long as we need it to answer you and to keep a reasonable record of the inquiry, generally no longer than two years after the inquiry is closed, and then we delete it. Technical logs from our hosting provider are kept on that provider's standard schedule, a limited period measured in days. You can ask us to delete what you have sent at any time.

Data Security
